After a whole month I finally get to write something about my Melbourne trip. I’ve stayed in Australia for around 6 days last month, 4 days in Melbourne and 2 days in Sydney. In general I really love Melbourne a lot for its fresh air, beautiful city view as well as its convenient transportation.
I’d like to share my itinerary here so in case if you want to plan your trip, you can find some information I’ve searched (actually mainly my girl friend did it):
Morning: Queen Victoria Market, Docklands
Lunch: Pho Dzung Vietnamese food (勇記), where a famous HK gourmet Mr Choi (蔡瀾) said the world most delicious Vietnamese rice noodle is in there.
Afternoon: Federation Square, Flinders Street Station, Eureka Skydeck 88
Dinner: Colonial Tramcar Restaurant
We basically just joined a local tour Go West, which I get this name from reviewers’ comments in TripAdvisor. There plenty of local tours that you can choose, here are some names that you can find:
I choose Go West mainly because it’s using small coach that there will only be 20 people in a tour. The Great Ocean Road tour includes the following:
Again, I’ve joined the Philip Island tour organized by Go West as well. The tour includes:
Morning: St Kilda Beach + Sunday market
Lunch: Lygon Street Italian food
We researched a lot on the web and we finally choose the City Square Motel.
I’d say it’s a good pick for the following reasons:

Honestly that’s something you don’t need to worry about at all.
For airport transport, you can take skybus from Airport to the Southern Cross station and vice versa in 20 minutes.
If you want to travel in the city, the free City Circle and Yarra Tram takes you everywhere you need to go. All you need is to purchase a Metcard and validate on the tram and that’s all.
