Layoff

The economy continues to go worse, companies start to cut costs through layoffs. TechCrunch has set up a Layoff Tracker, which tracks all of the relevant layoffs in the tech sector.  It also allows users to submit layoff news via a simple online form.

I just came across with an article “Layoffs” from the JavaScript master Douglas Crockford. I can’t agree more on this:

The greatest harm is done by getting rid of the people you should be keeping. This is a likely outcome from across the board cuts. Invariably, wrong people in management will get rid of good people out of self preservation. Losing good people while keeping wrong people is the worst possible outcome.

Really wish the layoffs tide will come to an end soon…
