Mozilla reported that our beloved browser Firefox has reached 20% of the browser market share. I think it is a good news for all of us (as a user or a developer), as more and more users are choosing standards compliant browsers on the market other than the buggy MS IE.
Despite the fact that Google has launched their killer browser Google Chrome 2 months ago, I am still using Firefox as my default browser (for web surfing or development). The main reason is again, Google Chrome does not support browser add-ons. For me, the Delicious Bookmarks, Adblock Plus and Better Gmail (+ ~ 15 other add-ons) are still important components of my web browsing gear.
I think the browser competition is essential as it really helps pushing different browser vendors to put more efforts on inventing new methods (like the various JavaScript engines: V8 for Chrome, TraceMonkey for Firefox..etc) to enhance our web surfing experiences. Will love to see more features from the coming Firefox 3.1 together with the TraceMonkey JavaScript engine:
